The actress, model, and Belstaff ambassador and creative contributor, on the things she'd rather not live without
Liv Tyler wears Belstaff
What are you wearing? I'm pregnant again so for now I'm in lots of beautiful loose dresses from Isabel Marant, Valentino and vintage Ossie Clark. I have a Stella McCartney jumpsuit I wear every day and a vintage YSL satin jumpsuit for evening but I'm about to outgrow them both.

On your feet? Being a New Yorker I like to walk everywhere, so I'm a flats girl at heart. I live in ballerinas by Chloé, Lanvin and Repetto and my Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots. But when I want to stand out, I do adore heels. My current favourites are my new Belstaff Liv boots from my upcoming capsule collection.
Dream watch? I have a few I've been given as gifts, but secretly I don't really like to know what time it is. Not the best idea as I'm often late…
Signature scent? My base scent is a musk oil from C.O. Bigelow apothecary, which I've been wearing for over 20 years. When I was a teenager I would often see Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. She was so nice and pretty and cool, and whenever I hugged her, her hair and neck had this subtle and captivating scent. She told me it was a musk oil from a street vendor in New York. So I stopped at every table in the East and West Village and started collecting them. I put other scents I love on top, but just a drop – I can't stand too much perfume or cologne.

Favourite artwork? I am really enjoying my Mick Rock prints of David Bowie. I bought four this year - Mick let me choose from his special archive.

Beauty indulgence? I spend way too much money on my skin, but I think it's worth it. I tell myself I'm investing in my future.
Favourite furnishings? A vintage grey velvet Dunbar sofa with mirrored sides. She's a real beauty. I love Arredoluce lighting, too – I have a chandelier by him in my parlour. Also velvet and silk carpets, Italian design from the Fifties, Sixties and Seventies and Mastercraft pieces from Talisman London.

Dream architects? Louis Khan and Luis Barragán – their buildings are truly well made and stand the test of time.
Dream drive? I love old cars, but my dream is not very glamorous: a pick-up truck with a bench seat so I can drive with my dog Neal or son Milo next to me.
Sight for sore eyes? The view from my country house in the Hudson Valley, looking out over the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains in the evening. The pink sunsets are beautiful.
Fantasy island? Parrot Cay for ultimate privacy and the Playa Grande beach club in the Dominican Republic for its charm and design.

Food heaven? I love the food and cosy atmosphere at The Fat Radish in New York. China Tang in London is so fun and glamorous, and the best Chinese food I've ever had. But my favourite place to eat is my friend Mario Batali's Babbo in New York. Every Friday he invites a small group to dinner and treats you to a feast while teaching you about every ingredient. It's a truly one-of-a-kind evening.
